Together, participants will work to see the risk management implications of specific situations and choices, scrutinize options for resolution, and foster a tolerance for ambiguity and the understanding that there may be no single ideal solution to each challenge. We will also discuss strategies for effective risk management and good patient care when regulations and requirements are unclear.
Objectives - Roundtable #4:
- Participants will apply current APA Ethical Principles and Standards to real-life scenarios.
- Participants will identify three risk management strategies.
- Participants will discuss, consult and review specific dilemmas that are arising in clinical practice as the result of the national emergency and share potential resolutions.
- Participants will gain an increased awareness of the risk management and ethical concerns regarding the reopening of in-person services, alternative options for in-person services (such as outdoor meetings), and cross-jurisdictional practice with clients who may not be retuning in-state for an extended time.
