Together, participants will work to see the risk management implications of specific situations and choices, scrutinize options for resolution, and foster a tolerance for ambiguity and the understanding that there may be no single ideal solution to each challenge. We will also discuss strategies for effective risk management and good patient care when regulations and requirements are unclear.
- Participants will apply current APA Ethical Principles and Standards to real-life scenarios.
- Participants will identify three risk management strategies.
- Participants will discuss, consult, and review specific dilemmas that are arising in clinical practice as the result of the national emergency and share potential resolutions.
- Participants will gain an increased awareness of the risk management and ethical concerns in deciding which safety precautions to implement upon returning to in-patient services and additional considerations regarding returning to in-person assessment services with both adults and minors.
