Together, participants will work to see the risk management implications of specific situations and choices, scrutinize options for resolution, and foster a tolerance for ambiguity and the understanding that there may be no single ideal solution to each challenge. We will also discuss strategies for effective risk management and good patient care when regulations and requirements are unclear.
- Participants will apply current APA Ethical Principles and Standards to real-life scenarios.
- Participants will identify three risk management strategies.
- Participants will describe specific dilemmas that are arising in professional practice as the result of the national emergency and analyze the relevant legal, ethical, clinical, and risk management components.
- Participants will identify key risk management considerations related to moving permanently to a telehealth only practice, to conducting therapy sessions outside, and to providing supervision to graduate students via telehealth.
