Wendy Peters, PhD

Wendy Peters, Ph.D. is Native Hawaiian and her writing, research, and service center on Indigenous cultural development. She has been a member of the Society of Indian Psychologists Executive Council for the past 10 years. She has taught for Antioch University since 2010 and is a Health and Community Psychologist. In addition to teaching, Peters has worked as a researcher in Native health disparities and substance use and her primary involvement is in behavioral and mental health, underrepresented and minority student recruitment and retention, leadership, mentoring, and National policy regarding American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and other underserved or marginalized populations. Currently, she serves as the Fundraising and Keynotes coordinator for 2022 National Multicultural Conference and Summit and will be its lead coordinator in 2023 as well as the Board for the Advancement of Psychology in the Public Interest of APA.
