State Psychological Association Endorsements

US Map

The Trust is for psychologists, by psychologists and that commitment extends to our valued State, Provincial and Territorial Psychological Associations (SPTAs). SPTAs work hard every day on behalf of psychologists to promote their interests, protect their practice, and provide important guidance on legal and risk management issues, just like The Trust. We’re proud to support them through our Endorsement Program.

The Trust is also proud to have developed The Trust SPTA Advisory Council in late 2018 to enhance this mutually beneficial relationship. Represented by small, medium, and large associations from various regions, the SPTA Advisory Council created the SPTA Executive Directors and Leadership Webinar Series to help educate EDs and their staff on a variety of informative topics. Our next webinar will be held on December 17, 2024 - see details below. You can also access the recordings of past webinars by clicking on the webinar name below.

In the fourth webinar of our STPA Executive Directors and Leadership Webinar Series, Trust Risk Management Advocate, Dan Taube, J.D., Ph.D., will be joined by The Trust’s General Counsel, Mr. Steve Benson, J.D., for an informative webinar titled, Legal & Risk Management Considerations for SPTAs. The Trust is pleased to be able to offer this content free of charge to executive directors and leadership for SPTAs participating in our Endorsement Program.

During this two-hour webinar, The Trust’s legal and risk management experts will tackle a wide range of issues raised by executive directors as challenging. Legal issues we will cover include: general non-profit principles and guidelines; required information sharing with the public; essential elements of contracts; and managing member misconduct. Risk management issues to be covered include: providing ethical psychological care in the current political climate, particularly with regard to gender affirming care; considerations about interjurisdictional practice; and obligations of SPTAs regarding ADA requests.

We hope SPTA EDs, officers and leaders will join us for this free informative webinar! Please register in advance using the "Reserve Your Space Here" registration link provided above.
